Mikikajiya-Mura Hyorin- Double bevel blue paper warikomi knife with Takaoka copper coloring handle 永尾駒製作所 Nagao Kanekoma Factory. Started in 1894, Nagao family has been making Higo knives for more than 100 years. Currently, Mr. Nagao, a fifth generation blacksmith is the head of the factory. There used to be about forty manufacturers of Higo knives in Miki city, but over years the number has drastically decreased. The demand for Higo knives still remains very strong especially overseas in recent years.
